51st Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta on Saturday, March 11
The Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta presented by Gillman Subaru is coming up this Saturday, March 11! Participants can compete or paddle for fun along a new 8.5-mile route. Paddlers will head east from Allen’s Landing to a turnaround point near Wayside Drive. Then, they will paddle west back to the finish line.

Mayors from the state’s most populous cities presented their legislative wish list, including economic development and workforce programs, broadband infrastructure and violence prevention.
Preserving local control will be a central issue this legislative session, San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg said at a conference Friday along with eight other members of the Texas’ Big City Mayors coalition. Mayors of the state’s most populous cities will “undoubtedly” oppose any upcoming legislation that would erode local authority, Nirenberg said.

Tomar and the FCs announce 'Rise Above' album release show featuring a Stax Records tribute, Feb. 1
Austin-based soul band Tomar and the FCs are thrilled to announce the details of their “Rise Above” official album release show, taking place Saturday, Feb. 1 at Antone’s Nightclub, located at 305 E. Fifth St, Austin, Texas 78701. Battleship Texas Foundation Announces Ship Departure on August 31st
The Battleship Texas Foundation (BTF), with their partners, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and Texas Historical Commission, announce that the Battleship Texas will be departing San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site for repairs on August 31st. Repairs will be done at Gulf Copper & Manufacturing Corporations’ Galveston Shipyard. Due to weather or day of delays, the departure is subject to potential postponement. A livestream video of the departure will be available for the public to view for free on the BTF YouTube channel and Facebook group page.
