Returning with more gut-wrenching stories showcasing tragedies whose repercussions reverberate throughout society, IMPACT OF MURDER returns for a second season to ID. Using the gripping victim impact statements delivered in court as the driving storytelling technique, this series showcases how victims can be empowered against their perpetrator to stand up in court and confront them – and in some cases, unexpectedly find forgiveness. Through a victim’s own words, viewers understand the horror they endured or the significance of the life that was taken, providing an acute and emotional understanding of the collateral damage of murder. In a gripping four-episode second season, the stories examine instances of racial injustice, domestic violence, a wrongful conviction, and a fatal chance encounter. IMPACT OF MURDER will premiere on Thursday, September 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Investigation Discovery.

Study finds no overall survival benefit, but improved quality of life with talazoparib in advanced BRCA-mutated breast cancer
Phase III EMBRACA trial survival benefit results may be affected by subsequent treatments
New data from the Phase III EMBRACA trial led by researchers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center found the PARP inhibitor talazoparib did not demonstrate a statistically significant overall survival (OS) benefit for patients with metastatic HER2-negative breast cancer and mutations in the BRCA1/2 genes. Most patients included in the study went on to receive subsequent systemic therapies, which may have affected the survival outcome analysis. The research confirmed previous results showing talazoparib improved patient reported quality-of-life measures over available chemotherapies and had a tolerable safety profile.
What Does It Mean To Thrive?
During my short journey in life thus far I have been fascinated with the process to become successful. Constantly reading stories and watching documentaries of successful people from musicians, entrepreneurs, athletes, to famous authors and actors. I even took the obsession farther by watching animal planet every night to see the process of a successful hunt for animals. Every day in high school when the day was over I had to rush to the bus stop to catch the city bus home and I always saw this particular father pick up his son in the most expensive looking car I’ve ever seen. One day I missed the bus purposely just to ask him how he got that vehicle. What did he do? He simply said: “thrive for greatness and never look back”. That perplexed me for a long time because I never could grasp the meaning on how to thrive.
