The new Brock Park has been reimagined as an adventure park, featuring amenities like a ropes course, Ninja Warrior course, a kayak/canoe launch, nature-based programming, and enhanced site security. The Houston Fund for Social Justice and Economic Equity in partnership with Wells Fargo announced today the first round of Open for Business Grant recipients - 219 diverse Houston-area small businesses and non-profits will receive a combined $5 million ranging between $10,000 and $65,000. The Fund’s Open For Business Grant program was established with a $20 million donation from Wells Fargo announced in February of this year and provides local small business owners with new ways to grow and own more of their businesses. The $5 million announced today marks the first phase of the program.

More Than 150 Others To Receive A Technology Makeover or Marketing Services
Comcast this week announced it will award $1,000,000 in grants to 100 BIPOC-owned small businesses, which includes Hispanic and Asian American owned businesses among others, in Houston. More than 150 businesses in the area will also receive technology and marketing resources. These recipients are part of nearly 2,500 entrepreneurs nationwide who have been selected as Comcast RISE awardees since November. Houston was one of five cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, and Philadelphia, selected to award $10,000 grants to 100 local businesses from the Comcast RISE Investment Fund, for a total of $5 million across 500 businesses.

They resent those who have it, but spend their lives attempting to get it for themselves, all the while self-sabotaging that effort in ways that are avoidable if they knew the rules of the rich. Yes, the rich have rules. The reason most individuals, and certainly the majority of Black Americans, never accumulate any substantial savings is because they do not understand the nature of money and how it works.
