During the ceremony, an array of amazing youth were recognized for their overall character, integrity and willingness to make the world a better place. The categories for honorees included: kids, teens and young adults. The esteemed keynote speaker, founder of Sienna Sauce and featured on Shark Tank (secured a deal), Tyla- Symone Crayton, delivered an uplifting, powerful and motivating speech that had the audience, beyond inspired.

HBCU Grad Crowned Mrs. Universe 2022

Attorney, author, actress, and award-winning TV producer Juanita Ingram, Esq. was recently crowned Mrs. Universe (R) 2022 on August 24 in Miami, Florida by the Ms. World Corporation ("MWI"). Over 75 contestants represented countries around the world, Ingram is the first Black Woman to be crowned the title. A Tennessee native , Ingram lives in Singapore with her husband and two children. Ingram is the creator, star, and Executive Producer of the family-friendly docuseries The Expats International Ingrams currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Roku.

Communities In Schools (CIS) of Houston marks the 10th anniversary of its Mental Health Initiative, (MHI) which was launched in September 2012 to expand mental health support across the Houston-area campuses it serves. For the past 43 years, supporting students' mental health and well-being has been at the core of what CIS does. With the MHI, the organization was able to implement targeted efforts to collectively address the growing mental health needs on CIS campuses.
