Governor Abbott Appoints Harper To Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority
Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Harper Holland as the presiding officer of the Sulphur River Regional Mobility Authority for a term set to expire on February 1, 2021. The regional mobility authority is a political subdivision that allows local transportation planning and project delivery leaders to partner with the state to deliver transportation infrastructure projects that will serve Lamar, Delta, and Hunt Counties.

METRO continues to implement additional safety precautions to protect the traveling public and operators against the spread of COVID-19. In addition to social distancing measures, encouraging the use of face coverings and increased cleaning, the Authority is installing plastic enclosures for operators on vehicles which serve METROLift customers. Donald Trump’s sons, Eric and Donald Jr., are reportedly investing in luxury resorts in one of the poorest regions of America: the Mississippi Delta. The area happens to be in the heart of Trump’s base. The brothers claim the towers, which are part of a program that the Trump Organization is calling an “American Idea,” will start with a four-star, 100-room Scion hotel designed to look like an antebellum plantation, Newsweek reports.
