For the ninth consecutive year, The Home Depot is continuing to give back to our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and today announced that voting has begun for the 2018 Retool Your School Campus Improvement Grant Program. Since 2010, the program has awarded more than 1.8 million dollars in grant money to our nation’s HBCUs to make sustainable improvements.

EPA Announces $44 Million in Funding to Reduce Emissions from Diesel Engines

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing the availability of grant funding to implement projects aimed at reducing emissions from the nation’s existing fleet of older diesel engines. EPA anticipates awarding approximately $44 million in Diesel Emission Reduction Program (DERA) grant funding to eligible applicants. Region 6 (Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas) will accept proposals requesting up to $2,500,000 in grant funds.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) across the country are seeing a resurgence of interest and funding in the last few years. To support incoming freshmen students at HBCUs and to encourage them as they embark on a new chapter of their lives, The Breakfast Klub is hosting a free celebratory event, HBCU Sendoff. Approximately 150 students are expected to attend. Registration is required.
