Thousands of people lost their entire wardrobe when Hurricane Harvey flooded southeast Texas. A donation of brand-new clothing and shoes from Kroger with a retail value of $2.5 million will help families refill their closets. It’s estimated that as many as 100,000 homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged by the flooding in late August, representing a tremendous loss of property and personal possessions.

A new mural celebrating the Houston area class of 2020 has been added to the iconic collection of murals in Graffiti Park, 2102 Leeland St. in East Downtown (EaDo). Internationally recognized Houston artist, Gonzo247 collaborated with artists Nicky Davis, JoJo, Sy and Carolyn Figueroa to create a vibrant, colorful piece filled with uplifting messages to inspire members of this year’s graduating class who have endured a difficult year, missing many traditional memories because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Texans' Whitney Mercilus deliver pizza to nurses
Houston Texans' Outside Linebacker Whitney Mercilus partnered with Papa John's Houston to deliver pizza to nurses at Texas Children's Hospital earlier today. Mercilus, works with his foundation, WithMerci, which focuses on helping families with children with disabilities; each year Mercilus and the foundation serves Thanksgiving dinner to nearly 50 families at Texas Children's Hospital. Mercilus brought along DJ and Producer Rican McGusty (AKA DJ Big Reeks) from the Waxaholics, also his partner in this giving back mission, Keith Sullins, President of Papa John's Houston, to help deliver 125 pizzas.
