Will Henry is a visionary artist based in Houston. VAA will visit his studio, which is rarely open to the public. He and arts writer Garry Reece will discuss the current works Henry is readying for his next exhibition, at the Galveston Arts Center in May. VAA members and guests will be the first to see these new paintings.
Rainbow On Ice Returns to Discovery Green

Free Bus Shuttle Service To Continue for Downtown Portions of Red Line
This evening Houston Fire Department officials notified METRO that new structural concerns were discovered at the downtown building damaged by Thursday's multi-alarm fire. The building, located at the intersection of Main St. and Walker St., sits adjacent to the Red Line's Main Street Square Northbound platform. As a safety precaution, METRO will continue the suspension of rail service from the Downtown Transit Center to the Burnett Transit Center. This is expected to last through tomorrow afternoon, possibly longer.

Historic Emancipation Park Rededication
Mayor Sylvester Turner led the rededication ceremony of Emancipation Park, together with OST/Almeda Redevelopment Corridors TIRZ#7, Emancipation Park Conservancy and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. A day long festival (10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) was held in conjunction with the rededication.
