WORLD launches season 8 of its award-winning documentary series Local, USA this Black History Month with In the Bubble with Jaime, a personal and political portrait of Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Jaime Harrison. Executive produced by Charlamagne tha God and directed by award-winning filmmaker Emily Harrold (While I Breathe, I Hope), the film brings viewers behind the scenes of the daring 2020 Senate campaign of Harrison, a Black man, against long-time U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham in the deep red state of South Carolina.

Actor Columbus Short Released From Prison After Serving 34 Days For Beating Wife
Columbus Short, a former Scandal actor, has been released from jail after serving only 34 days of his one-year sentence for beating his wife. The LA County Sheriff’s Department didn’t give a reason for the early release. Short, who was charged with physically abusing his wife Aida Abramyan, has pleaded no contest November last year.

Double Emmy Award-winning actor and author, GregAlan Williams, is confirmed as a featured author at the 2017 National Black Book Festival, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Williams is most recently known for his portrayal as the villainous, Robert "Mac" McCready, on OWN's hit drama series, Greenleaf, but is also known for a number of memorable roles across television (The Sopranos, The Game, The West Wing) and film (Remember the Titans, The Preacher’s Kid, Terminator Genysis). Williams' novel, Heart of a Woman, which was originally published in 2009, has recently been re-released in audio book format.
