Rise in HIV Diagnoses Among People Over 50 in Europe

One in every six cases of HIV in Europe is diagnosed in people over the age of 50, a new study has found. Between 2004 and 2015, the number of new HIV diagnoses increased by 2.1% each year among this age group, with people over 50 accounting for 17.3% of new HIV cases diagnosed in Europe in 2015.

Museum Takes Break To Focus On Reaching Children Where They Are Via “All-Time Access” Initiative

Coming September, Children’s Museum Houston (CMH) will launch “All-Time Access,” an online initiative to enhance distance learning and open the Museum to families all over the world from an all-time digital landscape. Now that kids are back in school, the Museum will take a break beginning Aug. 31 to focus on “All-Time Access” and meet children and their families where they are —at school, at home, at play. But do not worry! CMH will reopen just as soon as we can come together again. The Museum had intended to remain open the entire week, but due to Hurricane Laura, CMH will close Aug. 26 and 27 with plans to reopen Aug. 28 to 30.

Rockets must dig deep to stave off elimination in Game 5 against the Lakers

The Houston Rockets will be in a familiar place in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Saturday inside the bubble at Disney Orlando as they face the Los Angeles Lakers down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. 2018 Houston Homeless Count Results Reflect Hurricane Harvey Impact

The Way Home system has permanently housed more than 14,500 individuals since 2012, including Veterans and individuals experiencing chronic homelessness

The Coalition for the Homeless announced results for the Point-In-Time Homeless Count & Survey, which took place January 23-25, 2018 on behalf of the local Continuum of Care (CoC), known as The Way Home. The annual Count provides a snapshot of the state of homelessness in the Houston area on a given night and is a requirement of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for The Way Home’s federal funding process. The Way Home CoC encompasses Houston, Pasadena, Harris County, Fort Bend County, and Montgomery County.
