Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Aids Dallas HBCU During International Convention
With less than four years to go until its centennial celebration, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority is focused on accelerating and expanding its community service impact across the country. During its 57th biennial convention in Dallas, which was held from July 11 to 15, the African American sorority shattered previous attendance records. Members participated in three community service projects and attended more than 16 different workshops and activities while delegates focused on the future during the sorority’s business meetings. A record-breaking $88,000 was donated to six charities during the convention.

April showers bring additional free pet food giveaways from Blue Ridge Humane Society. Blue Ridge Humane Community Outreach staff will host two giveaways this month as well as provide pet food and support for the Interfaith Assistance Ministry’s Drive-Thru Tuesdays on the fourth Tuesday of the month. Governor Abbott, TDEM Announce Expansion of COVID-19 Antibody Infusion Center In Seguin
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), in partnership with local officials, will expand operations at an active COVID-19 therapeutic infusion center in Seguin. The infusion center, which opened on a small scale in December 2020 and transitioned to a larger operation, will further grow operations starting tomorrow. The expansion is expected to double the number of daily infusions from 25-30 to approximately 50.
Governor Abbott, TDEM Launch COVID-19 Antibody Infusion Center In Victoria
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), in partnership with local officials, will launch a new COVID-19 therapeutic infusion center in Victoria. The infusion center will begin accepting patients tomorrow and has been provided with monoclonal antibodies to treat outpatient cases of COVID-19 who have a referral from a doctor. This treatment is available at no cost to the patient. Local partners include Victoria County, the Victoria Office of Emergency Management, Victoria ISD, and the Golden Crescent Regional Advisory Council.
