The East End Houston community is greener thanks to a massive effort led by the East End District to plant more than 400 trees in the historic neighborhood. Crews of volunteers were mobilized to three sites in the East End area during December, completing the task in less than 24 hours.

Kroger and Hormel to Donate Hams to Hundreds of Houston Families

West Lake Houston Bridge Final Repairs Scheduled

Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make Kingwood and Lake Houston area residents aware Houston Public Works will conduct a bridge repair project on the West Lake Houston Parkway Bridge beginning Monday, April 27. The project consists of replacing fourteen bearing pads. The cost of the project is $307,400 and will be funded through the Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Fund. The contractor for the project is ISI Contracting, Inc. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, May 20, weather permitting.

We are taking these steps following the violence in Atlanta and acts of hate against Asian-Americans nationwide. HPD assures me that there are no credible threats in Houston, nor has our city experienced an increase in hate crimes reported against Asian-Americans. However, I understand that many of our neighbors are concerned and fearful for their safety.
