Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Announces Our 21st Season!!!!

Mildred’s Umbrella Theater Company returns to the stage in September 2022 with their 21st Season! Mildred’s Umbrella’s mission is to empower women in theater, and the company produces plays that are either written by women, or feature a mostly female cast. The season will include two productions by women never before seen on Houston stages.

Girls STEM Academy Summer Program will include robotics, designing automated vehicles

The Girls STEM Academy Summer Program will be held July 6-29 in the John A. Peoples Science Building at Jackson State University. It will introduce teenagers to science, technology, engineering and mathematics and include short courses on robotics as well as programming and designing automated vehicles.

Butt family, HEB donate $10M to replace Robb Elementary School in Uvalde after shooting

The Texas Tribune reports that the Charles Butt family and grocery retailer H-E-B have committed $10 million to the Uvalde school district to build a new school to replace Robb Elementary, the site of the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two teachers last month.
