The Symposium, from 8 a.m. – noon over two days, will focus on green infrastructure as our path to a sustainable and resilient future.

Cirque du Soleil kicks off relaunch of global touring operations in Houston

Alegría, an all-time classic reimagined in a new light, opens under the Big Top at Sam Houston Race Park on November 13

Following the successful reopening of four of its Las Vegas resident productions, Cirque du Soleil has chosen Houston to relaunch its first touring touring production. Alegría, which had to pause performances at Sam Houston Race Park in March 2020 due to the global pandemic, is bringing its Big Top back to Houston for an extended series of performances starting November 13.

Twenty-six Texas Schools Named 2021 National Blue Ribbon Schools

U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona today recognized 325 schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2021, including 26 schools in Texas. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. Secretary Cardona made the announcement during his Return to School Road Trip, while visiting an awardee school, Walter R. Sundling Jr. High School, in Palatine, Illinois.

The Los Angeles Times reports the number of congenital syphilis cases in L.A. skyrocketed to 113 in 2020, which AHF believes may be low after L.A. County moved public health staff to work on COVID-19

County to 44 cases in 2017

The infusion center, which opened on a small scale in December 2020 and transitioned to a larger operation, will further grow operations starting tomorrow. The expansion is expected to double the number of daily infusions from 25-30 to approximately 50.
