Fat is one of the ugliest words in the English language for the negative connotation it carries as far as Dee Moore is concerned. For the majority of her life she has been a woman with curves. Like most plus size women, she has endured a lot of pain being the butt of jokes and focus of judgmental eyes. Moore got criticism from everywhere but what hurt most was criticism she received from men who were suppose to love her. The constant disrespect greatly damaged her self esteem until one day she had enough. No longer would Moore allow words to damage her self-worth. She would remove the power those words had over her and other women as well.

Sugar Land's Fish City Grill to Undergo Transformation
Fish City Grill and Half Shells are restaurants known and loved for their fresh seafood and welcoming atmosphere. The Sugar Land location, located in Sugar Land Town Square at 15980 City Walk, originally opened in 2006. Now, the popular seafood destination will undergo a dramatic facelift. The restaurant will be closed for renovations at 3pm on July 9, reopening for dinner on Friday, July 21.

On March 30, 2019, the River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash® (Trash Bash®) will celebrate its 26th consecutive cleanup of the Galveston Bay watershed. Trash Bash® is proud of its heritage as the largest, single-day, waterway cleanup in Texas. In 2018, about 3,600 volunteers collected 85.5 tons of trash, one ton for recycling, and 356 tires, while cleaning 158.5 miles of shoreline.

Pride, Prejudice, and Power
June is Pride month in the United States. In big cities and small communities, LGBTQ+ people and their friends, families, and allies will celebrate freedom and progress toward full equality. All fair-minded Americans can celebrate that progress. But there is a growing shadow over this year’s celebrations. The far-right political movement is aggressively trying to turn back the clock to a time when LGBTQ+ people were not treated equally under the law. 24 Sickened in Salmonella Outbreak Linked to Laboratories in 16 States
Twenty-four people in 16 states were infected with a strain of salmonella from March through June in an outbreak linked to microbiology laboratories, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Wednesday. Six people were hospitalized, but no deaths have been reported.
