It’s Your Birthday

The Astros celebrated catcher Martin Maldonado’s birthday with a walk-off win

Kyle Tucker capped off a great birthday weekend for his teammate Martin Maldonado. His walk-off homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the Astros (11-10) a 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners (7-16) and capped off a sweep of the series. Houston is now on a four-game winning streak and have won five out of the six games they have played in Minute Made Park.

BOOM!

Alvarez’s return to the lineup wakes Astros bats up in victory over the Mariners

I have a friend that I have known for over 20-plus years of my life that I just refuse to lose any competitive events to. No matter if it’s video games, cards, board games, kick ball, etc. I am not losing. It must feel that way every time the Houston Astros (9-10) face the Seattle Mariners (7-14). The Astros used a strong first inning offensive outburst to defeat the Mariners 11-1 on Friday night at Minute Maid Park.

Astros get a big pop back in their lineup with the return of 2019 A.L. ROY Yordan Alvarez

Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker finally caught a huge break on Friday. With his team currently under .500 at 8-10, a record some could attribute to the rash of injuries they have suffered through in the first part of a shortened season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Baker is getting a big bat back in the Astros lineup that will add more firepower to an already explosive offense.

Greinke calls out pitches from the mound in Astros victory

Babe Ruth’s called homerun in the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs is by far one of the greatest sports debates of all time. Many have agreed that Ruth repeatedly pointed to the outfield to indicate that he was going to hit a homerun. Others have debunked the theory by saying that he was pointing towards the pitcher or the bullpen that had been talking trash to him all game.

Faith & COVID: Staying Grounded In and Activating Your Faith

Where is your level of faith? At this moment, if you had to rate your faith on a scale from 1(lowest) to 10(highest), what would that number be? Take a minute and ponder those questions. My level of faith can vary; however, I keep the faith through consistently staying grounded in who I am and in whose I am, according to the Word of God.

Donald Trump, Again, Fails to Lead

Donald Trump's ignorance and incompetence have cost American lives in the pandemic. Now his failure of leadership will add to the misery of millions of Americans force onto unemployment, the hunger of children at risk, the homelessness of families facing eviction. At a time when bold action is imperative, the president offers posturing and gestures. Having failed to produce a deal on a much needed rescue program, he issues a showtime executive order and series of memoranda that will do more to foster confusion than to aid those in distress.
