Rice, Houston Methodist to unveil state-of-the-art Center for Human Performance Oct. 10

Rice University and Houston Methodist will unveil the Houston Methodist-Rice University Center for Human Performance in an Oct. 10 kickoff event featuring demonstrations of the center’s state-of-the-art capabilities. Located in Rice’s Tudor Fieldhouse, the center will allow physicians, academic researchers and university students to work side by side with student athletes, trainers and coaches to advance research, clinical care initiatives and educational activities in exercise physiology, injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Carranza as he bragged on the district that has been under his administration for the last 12 months. The Texas Education Agency (TEA), a branch of the state government responsible for overseeing public education, recently released their accountability ratings for school campuses for the 2016-2017 school year and Houston ISD scored well.

Houston Symphony to Receive $25,000 Grant

National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $25,000 to the Houston Symphony to support the Community-Embedded Musicians (CEM) initiative. Art Works is the Arts Endowment’s principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 977 grants in this category.

Lone Star Sports & Entertainment today announced that the 2022 Battle of the Piney Woods presented by H-E-B, featuring the Sam Houston Bearkats and Stephen F.
