Funds raised benefit the Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP)

Sisters Network® Inc. (SNI), the only national African American breast cancer survivorship organization in the United States today announced over 5,000 participants are expected to walk/run on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 8:00 a.m., at the 9th Annual Stop the Silence National African American Breast Cancer 5K walk/run. Houston Parks and Recreation Department Releases Statement On Death of Parks & Recreation Employee

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at approximately 11:20 am, an electrocution incident involving a Houston Parks and Recreation Department employee occurred. The Houston Fire Department responded to an EMS call to Melrose Park, 1001 Canino Road. Upon arrival HFD found the employee to be deceased. An investigation regarding the incident is still underway.

Governor Abbott Appoints Seven to Texas Medical Board

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Ada Booth, M.D. and Ebony Todd and reappointed Michael Cokinos, Kandace Farmer, D.O., LuAnn Morgan, Jayaram Naidu, M.D., and Sherif Zaafran, M.D. to the Texas Medical Board for terms set to expire on April 13, 2027. The Board regulates the practice of medicine in Texas.
