At MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre by Special Arrangement with Eleanor Lloyd Productions, Anthology Theatre, Stanley Buchthal and Denis O’Sullivan

Manhattan Theatre Club, Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) and the Young Vic Theatre, Kwame Kwei-Armah (Artistic Director) and Lucy Davies (Executive Director) are pleased to announce a final extension for the Broadway premiere of The Collaboration, by special arrangement with Eleanor Lloyd Productions, Anthology Theatre, Stanley Buchthal, and Denis O’Sullivan at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street). The production will now play two additional weeks through Sunday, February 5, after opening to critical acclaim:

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Events taking place in Hampton

Events in Hampton will honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. throughout the month. The day is observed on the third Monday in January each year. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day became a federal holiday in 1983 when President Ronald Reagan signed the bill into law. Despite it becoming a federal holiday, the day was first formally celebrated in 1986 and it wasn’t until 2000 when all 50 states decided to honor the day. The day observes the work that Dr. King contributed to the Civil Rights Movement.

HISD students to share their 2022 vision of MLK’s dream during 27th annual Oratory competition

Houston Independent School District top 12 student finalists will showcase their public speaking skills at the final round of the 2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Oratory competition. Fourth and fifth grade students will present their composed 3-to-5-minute speeches addressing this year’s topic “What would Dr. King say to us today about hope for tomorrow?”

Netflix, NHMC & Five Organizations Release Inaugural Selections for "Created By" Initiative

The National Hispanic Media Coalition applauds the selection of diverse writers for the Created By Initiative, offering script development deals by Netflix. Out of the chosen writers, three are alumni of NHMC's writers program, Zoila Amelia Galeano, Jeffrey Nieves and Emily Eslami Nieves. NHMC would also like to congratulate our alumni Diego Moreno who was nominated by the Native American Media Alliance.
