Five teen athletes have been named to represent the United States at this summer’s 2023 IBSA Goalball Youth World Championships in Sao Paulo, Brazil. BikeHouston is celebrating the funding of 15 new bike stations and an electric cargo trike, thanks to a $50,000 grant from Green Mountain Energy Sun Club. The new electric cargo trike will eliminate the need for gasoline-powered vehicle transport for BikeHouston, while strategically placed bike stations with racks and air pumps at local businesses and trail entry points will encourage more usage.

Professor of Art at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) for 47 years and Project Row Houses Co-Founder Floyd Newsum is presenting his first large-scale retrospective, Evolution of Sight, at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison, Wisconsin, from May 20 through October 8, 2023. The exhibition is organized by guest curators Dr. Lauren Cross, Gail-Oxford Associate Curator of American Decorative Arts at The Huntington in San Marino, California, and Mark Cervenka, UHD Professor of Art and O’Kane Gallery Director.

Houston Ballet closes out the 2022-2023 season with two final blockbuster productions: Divergence, May 25 – June 4, and Swan Lake, June 8 – 18. Divergence features three ballets from world renowned choreographers, Aszure Barton, Stanton Welch AM and Justin Peck, each with their own distinct style.
