Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston elects Julius Young, Jr. as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston (BGCGH) announces that Julius Young, Jr. is the new Chairman of the Board of Directors for the nonprofit. Young, who is Market Executive for Wells Fargo & Company within Government and Institutional Banking, is the first African American as well as the first former “Club kid” to serve as board chairman in BGCGH history. He was a Club member at a Boys & Girls Club when he was growing up in California.

TEXANS FIT ANNOUNCES NEW LOCATION IN MEYERLAND

HOUSTON – The Houston Texans today announced the opening of their third Texans Fit location in Meyerland. Opening Spring 2021, Houston will be able to train like the pros at the newest team-themed state-of-the-art fitness center in Meyerland Plaza in Houston, Texas; following the opening of the first two Texans Fit locations this past fall in Katy and Rosenberg.

The Astros announced today that the Astros Championship Trophy Tour presented by Mattress Firm will ceremonially kick off on Monday, Jan. 8 at Houston’s City Hall, located at 901 Bagby St. in downtown at 10:30 a.m. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan and Mattress Firm President and CEO Ken Murphy will be on-hand at the private media event to celebrate the launch of the tour.

Four New Murals Call Houston’s East End Home

The East End District welcomes four new murals to the neighborhood, making this historic area one of Houston's top art attractions. The murals were created in collaboration with local businesses, art curators Up Art Studio, and the East End Houston Cultural District. With this new addition, more than 50 mural sites decorate the walls and sidewalks of this 16-square-mile area just east of BBVA Stadium in Downtown Houston.
