‘Collateral’ Lethality May Offer New Therapeutic Approach for Cancers of the Pancreas, Stomach and Colon

Cancer cells often delete genes that normally suppress tumor formation. These deletions also may extend to neighboring genes, an event known as “collateral lethality,” which may create new options for development of therapies for several cancers.

A-Game Sports Marketing announced today that the honoree for the inaugural “Laughs with Legend” event will be Houston Oilers Legend and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Warren Moon. The event, which will take place at the Houston Improv on January 31, 2016 will also feature George “Mr. Las Vegas” Wallace as the comedy headliner and four legendary former NFL players in a skit called “The Legends Liars Club.” These players are: Andre Reed, Pro Football Hall of Fame; Larry Centers, NFL record-holder; John Randle, Pro Football Hall of Fame; and Bubby Brister, NFL record-holder.

Central City Productions announced yesterday the nominees in 26 categories for the 2017 Stellar Awards. Hailed as an "epic night in gospel music," this year's Stellar Awards will return to the Las Vegas Orleans Arena on Saturday, March 25, 2017. The telecast will premiere on TV One Sunday, April 9 at 7 p.m. ET with encores at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET. Cochran served as chairman and Mrs. Annette Bracey, Mrs. Erica Craven Fazande, Dr. Jocelyn Greely, and Ms. Colette Loeb served as co-chairmen. Melinda Spaulding, news anchor for KRIV Fox 26, and Dr. Austin Lane, president of Texas Southern University served as masters of ceremony. As each debutante was introduced to society, she was promenaded around the dance floor where she thanked her mother with a long stemmed red rose before performing sophisticated waltzes with her escort and father. Each stag was escorted by his mother as he was presented.
