MORNING... ...HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS ALL BEACHES TODAY...
.The sound side of the Outer Banks saw significant storm surge
last night. Conditions are improving quickly this morning as
winds diminish, but expect minor flooding to linger for the next
several hours. Water levels will continue to improve and recede
through the morning. A high risk of rip currents continues along
the beaches today.
...BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...
* HAZARDS...High risk of rip currents.
* LOCATIONS...All area beaches.
* TIMING AND TIDES...The most likely time for strong rip
currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide,
which will occur around 5:00 PM this evening.
* SURF HEIGHT...3 to 6 feet, highest along the east facing
beaches.
