Houston is gearing up for one of its most anticipated cultural events of the year—FestEve! 2024. Mark your calendars for Saturday, September 28, 2024, because this is an evening you won't want to miss.

An Evening of Eclectic Elegance

FestEve! is more than a festival; it's an experience that weaves together the threads of Houston's contemporary art scene, local leadership, and community spirit. Held at the illustrious Hobby Center at 800 Bagby Street, the event will kick off at 6 p.m. with an exclusive VIP reception. From there, the night will unfold into a spectacular showcase of visual and performing arts, a silent and live auction, and a delectable buffet dinner complemented by cocktails.

Honoring Houston's Cultural Champions

As we gather to celebrate the collective creativity of our city, FestEve! will also recognize three exceptional individuals who have significantly contributed to Houston's cultural landscape. Robbie Lee, a certified art appraiser and the visionary behind the former Black Heritage Gallery, will be honored as the Artist Patron of the Year. Kristi Rangel, a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist known for her powerful "Witness Series," will receive the Artist in Action award. Finally, Jan West, a dedicated co-chair of The Collective’s Advisory Council and assistant director at Rice University's Multicultural Community Relations in Public Affairs, will be bestowed with the prestigious CAC Beverly Harmon Service Award.

A Night of Unforgettable Entertainment

The evening promises an array of performances that span the spectrum from traditional to contemporary. Under the charismatic guidance of emcees Makaela Reed, a visionary theater maker, and Andrew “Risky Cereal” Evans, a renowned music and film video producer, the event will captivate with dancers, musicians, a magician, spoken word performances, and a jazz combo that will set the perfect ambiance for the night. Additionally, guests can engage in interactive art activities, making the night not just an observation of art, but an immersive experience.
