The halls of Betsy Ross Elementary in Houston came alive with festive cheer on Friday, December 6, 2024, as the Daisie Foundation, in collaboration with the Houston Police Department's Greater Houston Police Athletic League (GHPAL), hosted an unforgettable Holiday Magic dance-themed party. With more than 400 students, teachers, and staff in attendance, the event turned an ordinary day into a heartwarming celebration of giving, community, and joy.

From the moment attendees stepped into the transformed school, they were immersed in a whirlwind of holiday spirit. Students received a treasure trove of surprises, including games, brand-new clothing, and Houston Astros-themed backpacks. The day reached its peak with a lively pizza party, generously sponsored by Domino’s Pizza. Teachers weren’t left out of the festivities, walking away with an assortment of cosmetics and gifts. Adding to the culinary delight, Gatlin’s BBQ provided a sumptuous lunch, filling the air with tantalizing aromas that matched the warmth of the occasion.

The Mission Continues

“Money isn’t the problem,” Daisie often said. “Exposure and opportunities to win are what women and children need!” Today, the Daisie Foundation lives by this creed, extending its reach through impactful programs like the Mother’s Day Initiative, Leading Ladies Luncheon, Holiday Random Acts, and new scholarship and STEM opportunities.

Since its inception, the foundation has surprised over 13,300 students and 4,700 mothers with moments of joy and transformation. And as the foundation grows, its Houston chapter is poised to make an even greater impact, spreading messages of hope and opportunity.
