TrendSource's Convenience Store Industry Report finds that consumers are more receptive to cannabis products and in-store automation than expected, particularly among younger cohorts.

Convenience stores are in a transitional moment and must focus on younger consumers when considering the most important issues of the day. Indeed, according to TrendSource's end-of-year 2019 Convenience Store Industry Report, two of the biggest trends shaping Convenience Stores' current and future landscape--in-store cannabis sales and frictionless checkout technology--will both pivot around generational differences as older consumers prove relatively more resistant than younger ones.

Last night, singer, actor, songwriter and social media influencer Jade Novah and comedian Affion Crockett impersonated Beyoncé and Jay-Z on a joint Instagram Live, “If Beyoncé and & Jay-Z Were Quarantined Separately.” Expanding her advocacy efforts, Novah teamed up with Global Citizen as part of the #TogetherAtHome initiative to raise funds for the World Health Organization, Tuesday, April 2nd, in a live stream performance. Novah continues to make headlines as she adheres to the “Stay-At-Home” order. Last month, she uploaded a Tik Tok video where she delivers tips on “How to slay coronavirus free” in her famous Beyoncé impression, in order to spread some cheer during this time. She additionally hosted an “Off Stage and Online” livestream performance via Instagram Live, Facebook and YouTube, where viewers donated funds via CashApp to benefit Atlanta startup Goodr, which provides meals to children in Atlanta due to school closures.

Millennial Alumni Kicks Fundraising Up a Notch with Virtual Day Party

This past weekend, a group of young alumni raised over $4,300 during their first of a short series of virtual day parties in efforts to support student scholarships at Bethune-Cookman University. The young alumni group known as WHOE was established in 2016 by 2012 graduates Jeremy Mercer and Damian Thompson to create a lane for the young alumni of B-CU who wanted to provide an elevated homecoming experience for them and their peers.
