Renowned Chefs & Culinary Experts Host Sessions during Two-Day 'Boost Camp' Platform to Educate Culinary Entrepreneurs on Successful Business Operations & Strategies
According to James Beard Foundation's 2023 Industry Report, 53% of culinary business owners experienced lowered profits this year and challenges around rising food and labor costs have severely impacted profit margins, menu and content pricing since 2022. In its third year of service, Feed the Soul Foundation, a national nonprofit that continues to provide financial relief and business development solutions for culinary businesses, will host its first-ever Global Culinary Conference.

Dallas Cowboys DeMarco Murray Foundation Celebrity Waiter
Dallas Cowboys Running Back DeMarco Murray along with teammates and celebrity friends traded in their uniforms and helmets for plates and aprons. Many enjoyed four courses of Kirby's signature cuisine, fine wine and an auction all in the name of a great cause. Proceeds benefited the DeMarco Murray Foundation, which is focused on bettering the lives of DFW-area youth by providing educational support, opportunities and resources. The beginning of summer has been busy here at City Hall. As many of you may have seen, City Council passed the $5.2 billion Fiscal Year 2018 Operating Budget this week, which includes $2.4 billion from the tax-generated General Fund. For the second year in a row Mayor Turner achieved unanimous support of his bare bones budget. I believe that Mayor Turner is on the right track, as this budget saw department expenditures decrease by nearly $50 million and identified strategies within departments to assist with creating further reductions in the future.

Houston Texans' Whitney Mercilus and the WithMerci Foundation announces its' 2020 disability spotlight, Invisible Disabilities, which includes Aphasia, Apraxia and Hearing Impairment. Dow knows how to keeps its promises. In 2000, they took their original promise and expanded it to make a broaden stance of their support to the community with an initiative called The Dow Promise Program. The annual competitive grant program allows organizations to obtain a grant up to $10,000 for use for a sustainable project with longevity in the community. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kroger to Partner to Provide Groceries to Vulnerable Houstonians Affected by Burned Down Jim’s Grocery Store
Kroger has launched a partnership with City of Houston, the Houston Food Bank and Metro to deliver groceries directly to Houstonians in need.
Hundreds of local families in need, housebound seniors and Houstonians with disabilities will receive free groceries from Kroger this week as part of their effort to support the community affected by the recent loss of Jim’s Super Grocery Store to a fire in the South Union area of Houston.
