Music and Boxing Industry Mogul James Prince Hosts Book Release Party in Houston

he Houston community is invited to celebrate the release of “The Art and Science of Respect: A Memoir by James Prince.” The book chronicles the mogul’s success, celebrity stories, and sage advice honed through years of representing the nation’s most influential public figures. The book release party will take place on July 6th in Houston at jeweler to the stars Johnny Dang's $4.5 million venue featuring a Q&A with Prince, red carpet influencer arrivals, open bar, lite bites, and a book signing. Confirmed guests include iconic music artists such as Bun B, Trae tha Truth, Slim Thug, and Emmy nominated rapper Paul Wall, among others.

Additional Mission Modification for Mouth-Bar Requested

Council Member Dave Martin would like to make District E residents aware the Federal Emergency Management Administration's (FEMA) mission assignment modification to address partial removal of the mouth-bar has concluded. The mission assignment modification provided the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) authorization, acting at the direction of FEMA, to remove an additional 497,400 cubic yards of debris from the confluence of the San Jacinto River and Lake Houston, known locally as the "mouth-bar". Council Member Martin has never accepted the amount of debris included in the mission modification and continues to fight that number today.

Cancer-Linked Contaminants Found In Houston's Drinking Water: EWG

Most Americans don't think twice about drinking a glass of water. A report released Wednesday, though, found more than 270 harmful contaminants in local drinking water across the nation, including in Houston. The substances are linked to cancer, damage to the brain and nervous system, hormonal disruption, problems in pregnancy and other serious health conditions.

Houston's Local Needs Assessment Open for Public Comment Until Nov.5

On October 5, 2018 the City of Houston published a Local Needs Assessment of residential impact from Hurricane Harvey for thirty days of public comment.
