Company Donates 20 Percent of Restaurant Sales to Houston Food Bank and Encourages Houston Restaurant Week Participation

Texas-based Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:DFRG) donated $805,000 to the Houston Food Bank to aid in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. From Thursday, August 31 through Monday, September 4, 20 percent of sales at all 53 Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Del Frisco’s Grille and Sullivan’s Steakhouse restaurants nationwide was collected and donated in support of the Houston community.

The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, led by 9X Grammy-award-winning Wynton Marsalis, will bring its “Spirit of Swing” to Houston November 1-3, in a series of performances and classes that will celebrate and expand appreciation for this great American music. The musical director for the concert and residency will be Jazz Houston's Co-Founder/Artistic Director Vincent Gardner, a 20-plus year member and Lead Trombonist of the JLCO.

Urban Souls Presents: Dancing with the Houston Stars 2023

The 2023 Dancing with the Houston Stars event will showcase 12 Houston influencers, achievers, and leaders ready to trade in their “day jobs” for a fun evening of toe-tapping and eye-brow-raising performances in front of a live audience. The events will occur on October 13, 2023, at Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH) at 3400 Main St. Houston, TX 77002. Tickets are $50 and are available at www.matchouston.org. This event funds Urban Souls' yearly programming for the Houston community. February Films Celebrating Black History

Houston First invites the public to join us for Saturday Night Movies on the Plaza at Avenida Houston (in front of Hall C at the George R. Brown Convention Center). Beginning Saturday, February 8, and continuing through the end of the month, the Plaza at Avenida Houston will present outdoor screenings of movies written, directed or featuring prominent African Americans. Screenings will be followed by a Q&A with Houston creatives and others discussing the relevance of the films to black history and America’s broad cultural heritage.

ZooMobile Comes to Kingwood for the July 4th Festival

Houston City Council Member Dave Martin is excited to announce that on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, Kingwood will host, for the very first time, the Houston Zoo's ZooMobile at the July 4th Festival at Town Center Park, located at 8 Main Street Kingwood Town Center, Kingwood, Texas 77339. The Town Center Park activities will begin at 2:00 p.m., however the Houston Zoo's ZooMobile will not arrive until 4:30 p.m. with an expected departure time of 6:30 p.m.
