For the second night in a row, the Houston Astros failed to get any RBI’s (Runs Batted In) while giving up RBI’s (Real Big Innings). The Washington Nationals defeated the Houston Astros, 12-3 to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2019 World Series. Only three teams have ever gone down 0-2 at home to come back and win the World Series: 1985 Kansas City Royals, 1986 New York Mets, and the 1996 New York Yankees.

Youth Gathering to Bring 19,000 to Houston Next Saturday

From July 9–13, more than 19,000 high school students, adult leaders, volunteers and exhibitors will convene in Houston for The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s (LCMS) Youth Gathering at the George R. Brown Convention Center and Minute Maid Park. The LCMS has hosted its triennial Youth Gathering since 1980. This year, attendees from across the United States and at least seven other countries will come together to learn how Jesus Christ is “In All Things.”
Third Ward Consortium Receives Grant to install new synthetic sports turf surfaces at Jack Yates High School Athletic Field
A consortium of organizations, has received a field valued at $1,250,000 donated by the Houston Texans, Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation-NRG Park, and Hellas Construction, Inc., $250,000 from the NFL Grassroots Foundation Grant, and a $200,000 NFL Foundation Matching Grant through the Houston Texans to install a new synthetic sports turf surface at Jack Yates High School Athletic Field. Rodney Ellis, Harris County Commissioner Precinct One, was instrumental in the designation of Yates as the recipient of the field.
