Salvation Army Houston deploys disaster relief teams to Florida in wake of Hurricane Michael

As Hurricane Michael makes landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast as a powerful and destructive storm, The Salvation Army has placed all disaster relief resources across the state of Florida and in neighboring states on standby, including mobile feeding kitchens, trained personnel, and supplies. Disaster response teams and units from Texas are headed to Florida to support the anticipated relief efforts. Locally, The Salvation Army of Greater Houston is deploying teams from Pasadena and Conroe to assist in disaster relief.

Offensive Explosion: Houston Texans Move Into Tie for First Place By Scoring a Franchise High in Points

The Houston Texans ranked next to last in 2016 in the first half scoring in at 8.6 points. They scored 30 points in the first half in this past Sunday’s game. They ended up winning the game in a convincing fashion, (57-14) and put the rest of the AFC South on notice that they are here to stay. This was the most points scored by the Texans in a game in franchise history (previous record was 45 against the same Titans team back in 2014).

Rockets drop ninth straight game in Cleveland

As human beings, sometimes our emotions can get the best of us. On Wednesday night they finally caught up to Houston Rockets head coach Stephen Silas after he watched his team drop their ninth straight game losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 112 – 96. "Our defense wasn't good, and our offense was disjointed," Silas said lacking his normal positive and upbeat tone. "It wasn't very good all around."

Driving up I-45 North, about an hour outside The Woodlands, is the beautiful town of Trinity. As we were driving, we saw a sign that said, “SHRIMP & BACON TACOS” and we had to make a U-turn.
