AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Larry Miles and has appointed E. F. “Mano” DeAyala and Patrick O’Daniel to the Texas Board of Criminal Justice for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. The Texas Board of Criminal Justice provides confinement, supervision, rehabilitation, and reintegration of the state’s convicted felons.

Larry Miles of Amarillo is a pastor and elder at Trinity Fellowship Church. He is a certified volunteer chaplain with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He attended West Texas State University, before serving in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He then attended Amarillo College on the GI Bill.

E. F. “Mano” DeAyala of Houston is partner and attorney at Buck Keenan LLP, where he serves as counsel to individuals and companies in various industries. In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Texas, he is a Solicitor licensed in England and Wales. He is vice president of the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association and member of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority and the Houston Bar Association. He is a fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation. DeAyala received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Patrick O’Daniel of Austin is a partner at the law firm of Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP and an adjunct professor at The University of Texas School of Law and he is a certified public accountant. He clerked for United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. He is former president of Catholic Charites of Central Texas, general counsel for Texas Review of Law and Politics and a member of the American Bar Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers, and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. O’Daniel received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas School of Law.
