With Straight Outta Compton proving a critical and commercial success at the box office, it's clear there's some interest in the West Coast hip-hop narrative. Deadline reports that Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger are looking to get in on the action, and have been shopping Tha Dogg Pound story to some major television networks.

The Kenya Ware and Damien Zellous produced series is set to be based on the group's rise, navigating the California rap scene during the Death Row Era. “Snoop and I are always being asked to assist others with their Death Row projects because we were there from the beginning, until the demise,” says Daz. “We saw Dre leave, Pac murdered, and we were forced to run the company when Suge Knight went back to prison. Our perspective is honest and unique. There are countless stories that the world has never heard about those early days.”

It definitely sounds like it has potential, especially when you factor in some of the key characters who would inevitably appear: Suge Knight, Snoop, Daz, Kurupt, Dre, Ice Cube, 2pac... The list goes on. If done right, The Dogg Pound's story could make for an amazing series. Of course, it would have to be uncensored, so HBO would be an obvious first choice. Still, the series remains in talks, and as of now, nothing is concrete.
