STAFFORD -- The Stafford City Council voted 6-0 on Wednesday night to place a $62 million Stafford Municipal School District Bond on the November 7 ballot.

The Council’s decision was based on a recommendation from the citizens of the Stafford MSD Long Range Facilities Planning Committee (LRFP) and the Stafford MSD Board of Trustees.

For three hours before the vote, the Council asked questions, deliberated and commented on the proposed bond.

The Architect for the proposed bond is Autoarch Architects of Houston, Texas.

The proposed bond includes:

· A new Stafford Middle School building for 850 students with an auditorium, cafeteria, library and gymnasium.

· A new Magnet School for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)

· A new Administration Building, including a Visitor’s Center

· Repurposing the current Administration Building into a Community Center for all Stafford citizens to use.

· An Educational Plaza
