IRVING, Texas, Dec. 14, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Del Frisco's Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:DFRG) today announced that its award-winning Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse brand will open its first restaurant in San Diego in late 2018. In addition to the San Diego restaurant, Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group plans to open one more Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse restaurant in the back half of 2018 and another in the first half of 2019 in California.

“We are thrilled to open our first San Diego restaurant and begin establishing a foothold for our flagship brand on the West Coast. We look forward to bringing our award winning wine program, big and bold design and prime steaks to Californians, starting in San Diego,” said Norman Abdallah, Chief Executive Officer of Del Frisco's Restaurant Group, Inc.

The two-story Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse planned for BRIC South in downtown San Diego will face the waterfront and will be anchored by an InterContinental Hotel. Slated to open in October 2018, the site will contain a park designed as a walking corridor between the restaurant entrance and West Broadway, connecting visitors from the central business district to the waterfront. The restaurant will feature a dramatic staircase offering a transition from the ground level to the upper level, bars on both levels, as well as high ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the harbor. The restaurant will also offer two private dining rooms in addition to patios on both levels to maximize the outdoor space in the beautiful San Diego climate.

“Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse has rightfully earned its stellar reputation for restaurant excellence and as an anchor restaurant to this location will surely add to BRIC South’s position as a hot spot for destination dining for residents, conference attendees, tourists and others,” said Carey Owens, Vice President of Asset Management for the site developer, Portman Holdings. “We are honored to be one of the first sites to welcome Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse to California.”
