The whirlwind of the Super Bowl here in Houston brought the city plenty of excitement and fun with all of the interactive activities, parties, celeb sightings, and more. Out of the many (emphasize “many”) events Houston Style covered, Antonio Brown’s ‘Celebrity Super Slam” was definitely one of the most memorable highlights.
Considered one of, if not the best, receivers in the game, the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver hosted a star-studded basketball charity event fundraiser for a great program, The Boys & Girls Club of Houston.
“We are grateful that Antonio has chosen to give back to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston through his Super Slam charity basketball game,” said Tiffani Wesson, Corporate Outreach Manager for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. “Our organization strives to continue being a positive place for kids. Antonio’s work is doing just that by making an impact on our Houston community.”
The family friendly event was held near at the Butler Sports Complex which was received very well by Houstonians that wanted to star gaze but couldn’t easily access the events in the downtown area. Some of the celebrities spotted on the red carpet and on the court showing off some basketball skills were Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, Ja Rule, Porsha Williams, Doug Flutie, Stephen A. Smith, Kirko Bangz, and many more.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to help the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston” said Brown. “You can never do enough in our communities, especially where kids and their development are involved.”
On a personal note, thank you Antonio Brown, for giving Houston children an opportunity to see their favorite celebs up close and in person.
