Houston, TX - On Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26, the City of Houston's Public Works and Engineering Department will replace deteriorated pavement panels at El Dorado Boulevard and Space Center Boulevard. During the weekend construction, the outside eastbound lane will be closed on Space Center Boulevard. Additionally on El Dorado Boulevard, the inside lanes will be closed in each direction (northbound and southbound) approaching Space Center Boulevard.

The crews will work between the hours of 4:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25. The lanes will be closed beginning at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25, and will reopen at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26 allowing the concrete to reach its required strength.

At least one lane will remain open at all times in each direction, however intermittent delays are expected during construction. As a result, Council Member Martin has alerted the Houston Police Department's Clear Lake Substation and has asked that officers help with traffic mitigation when possible. Additionally, traffic control measures will be in place on site including traffic barrels, traffic cones, directional signage and flagmen. The comprehensive panel replacement along Space Center Boulevard is anticipated to be complete Spring 2017.
