Best known for her percussion skills backing up iconic performers Beyonce and Prince, drummer Cora Coleman has been tapping in the real estate industry as owner of a construction company. According to KPRC, Coleman opened her company Building Simple this month. It's a company that designs modular shipping crates for living and work space. It may seem like a far stretch but its not. Her grandfather was one of the first black-owned realty companies in Houston. The business was handed to her father, who passed away just last year. And now Coleman is following in their footsteps. She is not laying down her drumsticks but just added to her resume and preserving her family’s legacy.
