It is finally official for newly elected Harris County officials as they sworn into office on Sunday, January 1, 2017, by Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart. Rodney Ellis as County Commissioner, Precint 1, Ed Gonzalez as County Sheriff, Ann Harris Bennett as County Tax Assessor-Collector and Vince Ryan as County Attorney all raised their right hand to accept the duties of their office. One official not present was new Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg who was sworn in at a private ceremony at midnight earlier the same day.
