Astros to Host Public Rally for Bagwell Monday

HOUSTON, TX - The Houston Astros will give their fans the opportunity to salute new Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell with a public rally on Monday at 6 p.m. in the Union Station Lobby at Minute Maid Park. The rally is open to the public with no admission charge.
Several of Bagwell’s former teammates have been invited to the rally, including Craig Biggio, Lance Berkman, Brad Ausmus, Andy Pettitte and others. Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane, President of Business Operations Reid Ryan, General Manager Jeff Luhnow and Manager A.J. Hinch will also take part in the event.
Prior to the rally, Bagwell will be available to the media in the press conference room at Minute Maid Park at 4:30 p.m. Media may enter through the First Base Gate Media Entrance, beginning at 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, the National Baseball Hall of Fame announced that Bagwell (86.2%), Tim Raines (86%) and Ivan Rodriguez (76%) had earned the required number of votes for election. This year’s induction ceremony will take place July 30 in Cooperstown, NY.
