You will still be able to buy your Raisin Bran and Special K, but the company behind those popular breakfast cereals is reducing its footprint in the Houston area after making a change in its snacks business. The move, which will see the closing of a distribution center and the loss of 220 jobs, will begin in late July. In February, the company announced it would do away with its warehouse system and switch to a warehouse model whereby Kellogg will ship its products to its retailers' warehouses. The company said in a news release that it would give severance and benefits packages to affected employees. In addition to the Houston job losses, 201 employees will be laid off in Fort Worth.
