North Texas Police Chief Under Investigation After Arrest of Beauty Queen

Miss Black Texas 2016 Carmen Ponder said she experienced road rage from the police chief of Commerce Kerry Crews. While driving her vehicle Ponder passed a vehicle that was driving erratically. It turned out the driver behind the wheel was Crews’ 14-year-old daughter and he was teaching her to drive. When Ponder passed them, Crews followed Ponder to let her have a piece of his mind and allegedly called her a “black bih.” Ponder called the police to her surprise police took the word of Crews who said Ponder was resisting arrest. She was detained for 24 hours and charged with evading arrest. Now released, Ponder is calling for her charges to be dropped, Crews to be fired, and disciplinary action for other involved officers. An investigation is in progress.
