Houston (June 19, 2017) - The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) has stepped up to support Nora's Home, Houston's haven for organ failure and transplant patients receiving care in the Texas Medical Center, by providing furniture, fixtures and equipment for its recently announced facility expansion. The expansion will double the existing lodging capacity to include 16 additional guest rooms, which will allow the home to provide an additional 10,800 lodging nights per year to organ transplant patients and their families.

Jayantilal "Babu" Patel of Fusion Hospitality and an AAHOA lifetime member, has worked relentlessly to solicit furniture, fixtures and equipment including flooring, air conditioning, hot water heaters, art work, toilets, bathroom fixtures, vanities, laundry equipment, paint, locks, and landscaping materials for the facility's upcoming construction. His petitions garnered attention throughout the association's Houston community and has led to a successful partnership between AAHOA and Nora's Home.

"The AAHOA's mission is to deliver hospitality. One way that we fulfill our mission is by being a socially responsible community partner," said Patel. "We give back to help those in need as a reflection of the Indian community's giving spirit."

AAHOA is the largest hotel owners association in the world and more than 16,000 AAHOA members own almost 1 in every 2 hotels in the United States. With billions of dollars in property assets and hundreds of thousands of employees, AAHOA members are core economic contributors in virtually every community in the United States.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held at Nora's Home located at 8300 El Rio St., Houston, 77054 on Friday, June 9, 2017 to celebrate the expansion. Nora's Home is dedicated to providing all patients and families in the Texas Medical Center with the necessary support and resources they require for a successful transplant. The home's expansion will help fill the housing void and is currently the only hospitality-housing program in the Gulf Coast region to address the specific needs of transplant patients.
