Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4805 Lyons

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 4805 Lyons about 2:25 p.m. last Friday (June 16).
The victim, Calvin Freeman, 43, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Officer E. May reported:
Mr. Freeman, along with a friend, was in front of his business at the above address when two suspects drove up. The two got out of the vehicle, rushed toward Freeman and his friend, and attempted to rob them. Freeman attempted to flee and was shot multiple times. His friend was physically assaulted and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspects then fled in a light brown Hyundai with Texas license plates FMB-0929.
