Houston, TX - Houston City Council Member Dave Martin is excited to announce that on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, Kingwood will host, for the very first time, the Houston Zoo's ZooMobile at the July 4th Festival at Town Center Park, located at 8 Main Street Kingwood Town Center, Kingwood, Texas 77339. The Town Center Park activities will begin at 2:00 p.m., however the Houston Zoo's ZooMobile will not arrive until 4:30 p.m. with an expected departure time of 6:30 p.m.
The Houston Zoo will be bringing many different zoo animals to Town Center Park in an effort to educate attendees about the fascinating ambassador animals. Houston Zoo educators will be on site to provide information about the different species visiting the Kingwood area. The zoo educators have even curated some animals that are native to the Lake Houston Area allowing residents to test their new found knowledge by identifying these animals in our own backyards.
The animals will be traveling in a temperature regulated vehicle and will be permitted to interact with visitors at Town Center Park as long as temperatures remain below 95 degrees. Should temperatures exceed 95 degrees the animals must remain in the vehicle for their health and safety but zoo educators will still be onsite to interact with visitors. Council Member Martin would like to invite the community to take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
Council Member Martin wishes all District E residents a happy and safe Fourth of July. In observance of Independence Day all city offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Should you have any questions, please contact the District E office at (832) 393-3008 or via email at districte@houstontx.gov.
