Rajon Rondo Says Ray Allen Won't Be Invited To Celtics' 10-Year Championship Reunion

Next year marks the 10th anniversary of the Boston Celtics' 2008 championship title and Rajon Rondo is planning a celebration with members of that team including Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett.
Ray Allen, though? He won't be invited. Rajon told The Undefeated's Marc J Spears,
“I asked a couple of the guys. I got a no, a no head shake.”
Of course, Ray Allen was a critical member of that championship team, averaging more than 17 points per game en route to an NBA title but he signed a three-year deal with the Heat in 2012 and apparently has not been forgiven for this act of betrayal.
Rondo explained,
“It just wasn’t the greatest separation,” Rondo said. “It wasn’t the greatest thing that could’ve happened to us as a team, a bond. We were at war with those guys [Miami]. To go with the enemy, that’s unheard of in sports. Well, it’s not so unheard of. It’s damn near common now.
“The mind-set we had. The guys on our team. You wouldn’t do anything like that. It makes you question that series in the Finals.… Who were you for? You didn’t bleed green. People think [Allen and I] had a messed-up relationship. It’s not the greatest. But it’s not just me. I called and reached out to a couple of other vets and asked them what they wanted to do with the situation. They told me to stick with what we got [without Allen].”
While the 10th anniversary isn't until 2018, Rondo says he is planning on having the celebration this Summer at an "out of the country thing at an undisclosed location."
The only member of the championship team that Rondo has yet to extend an invitation to is Leon Powe, though he's planning on getting in touch with the former Celtics big man soon.
