Men Steal From A City Gear In Smash-And-Grab

HOUSTON - Police are looking for the suspects who stole merchandise during a smash-and-grab of a City Gear store in southeast Houston early Saturday morning.
According to the Houston Police Department, between three to five men in a stolen white pickup truck smashed into the back wall of a City Gear located on Telephone Road at Bellfort around 4:45 a.m. The suspects loaded boxes full of tennis shoes and t-shirts into the back of the truck before driving off.
A tow truck driver witnessed the incident and started following the suspects while on the phone with police.
At some point, the suspects realized they were being followed, started speeding and lost control of their vehicle before crashing.
Police said all of the suspects jumped out of the truck and started running. They were able to flee the scene before police arrived.
HPD recovered the truck and stolen merchandise.
