March 30, 2017. HOUSTON, Texas. Hope Farms debuts its fresh produce throughout Houston's hottest spots with its mobile Rolling Green Market. After popping up this week at a surprise birthday party for Recipe for Success Foundation board member Bill Baldwin, the Hope Farms veggies will continue to make appearances throughout April. The farm's first harvest of bright red radishes, crisp turnips, sweet peas, lush mustard greens, peppery arugula and other delicious options for sale, give fans a sneak peek at what will be on offer at the Hope Farm Stand beginning on Earth Day and in weekly Farm Shares.

Fans of fresh local food have been dazzled by the flavor and quality of the produce on offer leaving a photo wake of crisp colorful edibles proliferating across social media.

A 7-acre project of Recipe for Success Foundation, Hope Farms is training US veterans to grow produce in the midst of one of the city's largest food deserts. The Foundation has designed Hope Farms to be a community gathering place, featuring a Farm Stand open every Saturday morning, regularly scheduled cooking and gardening classes for all ages, including summer camps and Scout programs, activities that foster engagement in performing and visual arts and special events celebrating the harvest and shared meals.

Since the groundbreaking on Earth Day 2016, hundreds of veterans and community groups have volunteered their time to plow fields, build raised beds and erect infrastructure at Hope Farms. The first crops were planted in November and the harvest began last week.

Hope Farms official grand opening will be held on Earth Day 2017, April 22nd from 10:00am-noon and will feature tours, food trucks, kid's activities, music and produce. Hope Farms is located at 10401 Scott Street (at the corner of Airport.) Volunteering opportunities and weekly Farm Shares are available by contacting Recipe for Success Foundation.
