Beyonce is director Jon Favreau’s first choice to voice Nala in his forthcoming remake of “The Lion King,” according to Variety.

The outlet reports that Bey has been approached about the role, but has not decided whether she’ll take it. No further details were included.

If Beyonce signs on, she’d play mom to Donald Glover-voiced Simba. James Earl Jones will reprise his role as Simba’s father, Mufasa.

Jeff Nathanson is writing the remake of the iconic film, which will not be live action, but will look it, similar to the visual style of “The Jungle Book,” also directed by Favreau (with a sequel underway).

Beyonce’s last big screen presence was in 2009’s “Epic,” which was also a voice role.
