Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 1500 Richmond about 8:40 a.m. today (November 28).

Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 1500 Richmond about 8:40 a.m. today (November 28).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall and Officer J. Perrotte reported:

The victim was walking two dogs southbound on Mandell and crossing Richmond at a crosswalk when she was struck by a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck traveling southbound on Mandell, turning left onto Richmond. The pedestrian was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased. One of the dogs died at the scene, the other was not injured.

The pickup truck's male driver, who remained at the scene and called police, was determined to be at-fault. No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is continuing.
